What a challenge for these boys – the winds were gusting over 40 mph and the river levels were high. It was a tough proposition for the 6 boys to canoe down the river to reach the camp site – and they made it! They showed immense resolve and courage to persist in the headwind. One of the things we want to do is challenge them each week, with the right support, and they showed determination to stick at it even when at times we were making no headway at all!!!!

A hot chicken stew and raspberry pudding awaited them, with some marshmallows to finish. What a day!!!! Day 2 saw gentler winds and a steady passage through to Hoarwithy – a nice change from the wind blasting on day 1!!

As a group and individuals we are learning such a lot – not least that working as a team in challenging environments is hard but so important! Well done boys. Dynamis Adventures wish them all the best for the return to school, and we’re looking forward to seeing them at Explorers 5 in just over 2 weeks.

Good luck to the teachers too in tough times – as ex teachers ourselves we can only imagine how hard you must be working to prepare for school!!!!
